If you’re wondering what happened to the traditional circus gypsy, you needn’t look any further. Cavallo Equestrian Arts is owned and operated by 7th generation circus performer Olissio Zamperla-Zoppe alongside his brothers Gino & Ermes. Their lineage dates back to the 1840′s in Italy, one of the original countries in Europe for circus gypsies. The Zamperla-Zoppe brothers are now introducing the world to their latest installment in their equestrian show called Ma’Ceo.
Their unique blend of traditional & modern equestrian showmanship will take you back in time to experience what it truly must have felt like to witness the raw daredevilry of horseback riding but with a slightly modern feel. Set up in a traditional European style circus tent, Ma’Ceo showcases some of the world’s most talented & elite circus performers with costumes that take you back to the middle ages and music that coincides mellifluously with the sound of the horses galloping in the ring. You don’t want to miss one of these shows.
Ma’Ceo has outstanding showmanship and simplicity while maintaining an intimate setting. In a business that is filled with “over the top” productions that fail to truly connect with the audience, it is refreshing to see Ma’Ceo bringing the audience into their world; the world of the gypsy. ■
You can catch Ma’Ceo in Ocala, FL from March, 31st – April, 6th
