Johnathan Lee Iverson & Andre McClain
At the age of 22, while most people are barely graduating college and are typically still unsure about their career paths, Johnathan Lee Iverson was making history on The Greatest Show on Earth by becoming the very fist African-American and the youngest Ringmaster in the history of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
His stature & poise make his mere presence difficult to ignore and his operatic yet soulful voice captivates even the most skeptical of persons; resulting in a sincere admiration that no audience member can resist. If his voice doesn’t charm you, his personality will! Maybe that’s why he is considered by many to be the best Ringmaster in Ringling Bros. history! That’s quite a feat considering there are 142 years worth.
Alongside Johnathan is his longtime friend, Andre McClain. Andre is an accomplished animal trainer, cowboy, rodeo star, and country singer/songwriter. His father, Lu, founded the Bill Pickett Rodeo in 1984, which was America’s first all-black touring rodeo. Andre began riding bucking ponies and steers at the age of 5 and made his competitive debut at 7 years old. He is the host of the “All Acess Pre-show” and also performs with his Mixed Liberty Act. We ask these two dynamic Super Stars a few questions and give you a sneak peak at Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus “Dragons”! ■
